Sealing looks different depending on the part of town. In the Historic Village, the brick itself is the surface to protect, and a repellent soaked into the face of the masonry is the right treatment. On the framed chases of Northwest Landing there is no brick to treat; water gets in at seams, at the chase cover, and where siding meets trim, so the work there is about sealing joints and making sure the cover sheds water rather than holding it.
